Conversas is a (my) feminist drawing practice. It is open for anyone who does not identify as a cisgender man.
The starting question:
Could you tell me a story about a moment of deep transformation of you and your body?
During the years 2020 - 2021 I interviewed 12 people who are dear to me. (I started by interviewing myself).
After the encounters I would make a drawing.
I don't try to represent these beautiful people and their stories (that would be impossible!) but I draw from what resonates with me while listening to them.
The order of the drawings is the order of the encounters and the titles are words that emerged during the conversation.
I print these drawings in two copies with the screen printing technique: one copy for me, one copy for the interviewee.
Conversas was showed for the first time in the “Maison des Cultures de Molenbeek” on December 2021.
From now on I would like to continue this process, and that Conversas becomes an open and ongoing feminist practice of sharing.
If you are interested in telling your story contact me.
